Jagged Edge was originally opened as just a salon with three hairstylists and one nail technician. It began in a small shop in September of 2005 and grew to its present location in October of 2006. The salon consists of many stylists and two nail technicians that have a broad range of specialties, allowing Jagged Edge to have that perfect mixture of youthful vision and tried-and-true experience. We feel that our salon offers high end designing and products, but we try to keep a very down-to-earth atmosphere as well. We want our clients to enjoy their time with us and have a fun yet relaxing time while they are here. Some of our technicians have their own private rooms for a personal touch, while others are out in the open allowing their clients to mingle and talk with others around them. We love that our clients can, and do, just drop in to see us and stay awhile – even if they have no appointment. We find ourselves loving our clients and customers (along with our many coworkers) and treating them like family when they are with us.

Owner and Stylist

Linda Benson is the owner of and a stylist at Jagged Edge. She began her career as a hair stylist in Swifton, AR before creating the salon, spa, and boutique that is now known as Jagged Edge. She has worked as a hair specialist for 35 years now, and works hard to continue her education through special classes, such as Toni & Guy Academy Aveda classes, Aveda color and cut specialty classes, and also Matrix and Redken classes. She believes that by taking pride in her work and helping her clients to choose the style and color that best suits their face shape, she can ensure that her clients will always get the hairstyle that they want. She specializes in high fashion, textured haircuts, along with Aveda colors. When Linda can find a spare moment away from her shop, She loves to travel and spend time with her grandkids and family. She finds joy in seeing all the different places that make up our wonderful country. Her husband, Charles, is a wonderful asset to Jagged Edge, always doing the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the shop up and running. Her two daughters, Tammy and Erika, are wonderful women who now have careers and families of their own. Linda'’s life-long dream was a hard road at times, but fulfilling in ways that she could have only ever dreamed. Achieving her dreams here at Jagged Edge would not have been possible without love and support from her family, friends, and the amazing, loyal clients. Misty George has been in business for 12 years, with the last 6 belonging to her “Jagged Edge family”. Misty believes that this is the perfect setting for her to pursue what she truly loves - "Making people feel beautiful and happy about themselves." She specializes in the beauty of hair design - particularly in weave, highlight, and color. She says that she has been privileged throughout her career to participate in Hair Cuts Free of Charge for Locks of Love. Outside the salon she enjoys spending time with her family - her Godsend husband of 7 years, Brad, and the love and light of their lives, 5 year old son Will. Church is a very important and fun part of their lives and they also love to travel when time permits them to! Misty loves her clients and is continuously thankful for their business and support throughout the years.

Stylist

Lavonda Snyder has been working in the hairstyling business for a “long, long time” – “I’m not giving a number because that will give away how old I am!” Lavonda says. While she hasn’t always been at Jagged Edge, she has always worked in Jonesboro. She loves her career as a hairstylist and loves her clients enormously. While she does many different things, her favorite specialty is perms. She is our shop’s “perm master” as the girls call her, and she is definitely everyone’s go-to girl for just that. In her time off, Lavonda and her husband, Marvin, love to travel and take pictures of their trips. In fact, there is always a countdown calendar posted on her mirror marking the weeks until Florida again. She is an active member of her church, Pleasant Grove Methodist Church, and LOVES to play solitaire. Lavonda takes great pride in her work and loves to work with her clients.

Christy Lunsford has 20 years of hair experience under her belt, with the last few years being at Jagged Edge. She loves her career because it allows her to do exactly what she loves - making people feel good about themselves. Christy believes that being a hair designer gives her the opportunity to not only make people look their best, but to share her knowledge with them and teach them how they can achieve the style and overall look they want from their own homes. She gets the chance to give people some of her own knowledge in how to use the tools and products that will work best for their hair, and that is one of the things that she takes the most pride in. She enjoys continuing her education in her field of work, and does this by attending classes all over the place. She has learned and worked in classes in Nashville, Searcy, Little Rock, Jonesboro, St. Louis, Dallas, and even New York. Trends in the hair designing world are ever-changing and Christy believes it is very important to have the ability to keep her clients updated on the latest styles. Aside from her wonderful career, she also enjoys many other aspects of her life. She is married to a wonderful man, Jeff Lunsford. She has three daughters, Ariel (24), Olivia (17), and Emily (13). Olivia and Emily are both cheerleaders and keep her life extremely busy with their functions. She has two sons, Jacob and Crae, who are both 20, and one grandson, Zane, who is 3 years old now. She has lived in Jonesboro for the past 14 years and considers this her home. Their family rounds out with four dogs, Peizer, Jingles, Jasmine, and Jaden! She loves to read when she has a spare moment, have fun at cheerleading functions with her girls, and of course spend time with her family and doggies. Christy loves the work she does her at Jagged Edge and loves her clientele and co-workers as though they are her extended family. She is always willing and happy to take on new clients where she can and work with anyone on their hair needs and wants. It doesn't matter what age you are - she has clients ranging from mere months to eighty years old, and puts the same amount of heart and pride into them all just the same.

Keri Shrable has been working as a hair stylist for about 4 years and she specialize in color, styling, and special occasion hair styles. She has attended many cut and color classes over the past several years. Some of these include Redken, Goldwell, Bumble & Bumble, Toni & Guy Academy Avd. Classes, and Aveda. She believes it's important to continue her education on a regular basis in order to stay on top of the latest colors and styles so she can better inform her clients of what the best and latest trends are! She is an avid supporter of St. Jude's and Arkansas Children's Hospital as she believes these are wonderful organizations to help out in any way she can. Keri attends First Baptist Church in Leachville and loves to spend time with her family in all the spare time she has! She is married to Ryan Shrable and they have two children, Taylor, 5 years old, and Maci, one year old. Keri says, “They are the absolute joy and highlight of our lives!” She loves to spend her time styling hair and learning new techniques and methods to make her the best hair designer she can be for her clients. She loves having the opportunity to make people feel beautiful and love the way they look! Keri is very outgoing and is always excited to meet new people. She loves the idea of expanding my clientele as well so she is always ready and willing to take on any hair challenge she can!

Tracy Holladay has nine years of experience as a hair stylist, with the last year and a half being at Jagged Edge. Tracy says, “The work environment here at Jagged Edge makes my job even more worthwhile. Not only do I get to do something I love every day, but I also get to work with the most amazing people.” While she is experienced in most aspects of hair design, Tracy says that cuts and colors are her favorite areas, and she is always up for the challenge of a color correction! She truly believes that something as simple as a different cut to accentuate a person’s face shape or a new hair color to heighten their skin tone, can boost one’s self esteem as well as enhance their self -confidence. Tracy states, “I have found that continuing education is the key to being a successful hairstylist.” She has traveled to several states to continue her cosmetology education with professional lines such as Redken and Matrix. She is also continuing her education beyond cosmetology in the medical field. Currently, she has an associate’s degree from ASU and is pursuing her BSN. Tracy has high hopes that her goal can be intertwined with her career as a cosmetologist, allowing her to expand her focus areas. Tracy has lived in or near Jonesboro her entire life. Tracy loves her family life. She is married to a man named Jeromy and they have three boys: Braxton 10, Brayden 9, and Carson 5. When Tracy is not at work or school, it would be safe to bet that she is at some sort of ball game. Their family enjoys a wide variety of sports indoors and out. If she has a moment to herself, she enjoys running and reading about the current trends in the world. Mary Braden has been working for 23 years as a hair designer and loves what she does. She loves her job and specializes in lady’s cuts and styling and men’s cuts. She loves to meet new people and feels blessed that she gets the opportunity to make people feel better about themselves and their appearance. Mary loves to spend time with her family – her parents, boyfriend, sister, brother, and their kids – and loves to run and do her workout classes. She is an avid runner and aspires to one day run a complete marathon the whole way through. She is also an active member of the American Cancer Society and Women Can Run. Mary loves her job and is always willing and eager to take on new clients and accept new challenges!

Aundy Coles is a hair designer at Jagged Edge that has been working in the industry for 13 years. She attended Arkansas Academy of Hair Design and loves to continue her education through hair shows and color classes. She is certified in Redken coloring and loves to use the colors on her clients. Aundy says that her absolute favorite part of her profession is getting the chance to customize colors for her clients. “Having 13 years of experience under me, I feel like I can help tell my clients which colors are going to best compliment them and love to see the Redken colors I customize illuminate on my clients’ hair.” Aundy prides herself in doing a good job for her clients and always wants to bring out the best possible hair outcome for every client that sits in her chair. She considers it quite an accomplishment that she has formed close-knit friendships with many of her clients over the years. When not at the salon, Aundy loves to do anything and everything she can with her daughter, Cierra Crystyl. Cierra is the pride and joy of Aundy’s life and she spends all of her free time hanging out with her and doing as much mother-daughter bonding as she can!

Brandy Hawkins has been a hair designer for 9 years now, and she says that she is blessed to call Jagged Edge Salon, Spa, & Boutique her business home. While she loves all aspects of hair designing, she specializes in several unique areas as well - color, a European straightening system called Brazilian Blowout, and Hairdreams extensions! She loves the work that she does and is truly excited everyday that she gets the chance to make people feel beautiful and confident in such a relaxing atmosphere. She is very actively involved in her church, Temple Baptist Church, and also an active member of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness organization. Also away from the salon, Brandy loves going to the beach, reading, and keeping up with the latest styles and trends in the fashion world. You could definitely say that shopping is her favorite hobby! While she loves each of these, she gets the greatest joy in life out of spending time with her family. Brandy has a wonderful husband, Ross, to whom she’s been married for 5 years now. And the true love and highlight of their lives is their 2 year old daughter Eszlee. Brandy states, “She is the most amazing person in my life, and is always able to make me smile and laugh even when no one else can.” They have also recently added the newest member to our family, their dog, Harbor. Brandy thanks God everyday for all of the many blessings he has given her and for each and every one of her wonderful clients and coworkers - both groups of people that she also considers her friends. Brandy loves the work she does at Jagged Edge and look forward to meeting new people and taking on new challenges in the hair designing world.

Sarah Ohlson is a hair designer at Jagged Edge with about 5 years of experience under her. She loves to try out new styles and hair designs and specializes in colors, styling, and updos. She says that she loves every aspect of her job and loves the opportunity to try out new challenges whenever she gets a chance. She received her education at BeeJay’s Hair Academy and had continued it through Toni & Guy and Redken classes as well. She is certified in all aspects of hair designing, for women, men, and children alike. She says that her goal is to always make sure that every client leaves her chair 100% happy and satisfied. When not working at the salon, Sarah loves to spend time with her family and friends, read, and travel to new places. She is a very family-oriented person and loves to spend time with her mother and father, Cheryl and Franklin Roach, her sister and brother-in-law, Allison and Jerry Arnold, and her two beautiful nieces, Annie and Emma Arnold. Sarah is always ready and willing to take on new clients and try new things, and welcomes any calls or “drop-bys” at any time!

Carrie Barnett works as a hair designer at Jagged Edge and has been doing hair for over 8 years. She loves all aspects of her job, but especially loves coloring and highlighting. She says that her true specialty is thick hair because she has had thick hair her whole life and knows how to make it manageable for others. She attended Hair Tech Beauty School for cosmetology and went to Arkansas State University to receive her Bachelor’s degree. She feels that her greatest accomplishment is working in the cosmetology industry while raising two children and finishing her degree at ASU. She loves to learn and hopes to gain as much knowledge as possible so she can offer her clients a wide range of services. When she is not working, Carrie loves spending time with her family, shopping, reading, and decorating. She has a one year old son, Zen, and a six years old daughter, Mazzy, and loves to spend time with both of them and her fiancé Gilbert.

Sierra Harsson is a hair designer that has been practicing for about four years now, and has loved every minute of it! Sierra specializes in cuts, color, and up-dos. She loves short haircuts with lots of texturizing! She received her education at ASUN-Marked Tree Cosmetology, and loves to further her knowledge in all aspects of her career. She placed in Skills USA Cosmetology and received second place in the State of Arkansas for her hair designing. She wants to achieve a bigger clientele and hopes to continue learning anything she can about hair, in general. She loves to make her clients feel absolutely comfortable and completely pleased with their choice of style, color, or cut! When Sierra is not furthering her hair styling abilities, she love to shop, practice her make-up skills, decorate, paint, and hang out with her friends and family. She loves spending time with her boyfriend, Jonathan, parents, Shelia and Alan, and her four Chihuahuas.

Dorothy (Dot) Tanner is a new addition to Jagged Edge, having relocated to be closer to family. She has been working as a hair designer for 28 years and was a previous owner for a salon and spa in another city. She specializes in haircuts and styling and feels that she gives personal attention to hair texture and facial shape when styling. She likes to utilize her clients’ best features and blend them to current trends that they desire. She also gives scalp treatments for stress and tensions. She attended Searcy Beauty College for her cosmetology education and continues that education with classes in hairstyling and face/skincare classes. Dot attends Brookland Methodist church and is active in the Battered Women’s Shelter, Arkansas Sheriff Ranch Youth Home, Food Bank, and Community Theatre. Dot says that she is looking forward to working with the staff at Jagged Edge and is excited about meeting new people and clients. When away from the salon, Dot loves to travel and spend time with her family: her son, Andy Hubbs, dauther-in-law, Toni, and her three granddaughters, Alli, Hanna, and Kyli – plus one more on the way!

Ashton Brock is a new hairstylist addition to Jagged Edge! She worked for Jagged Edge as a receptionist while she attended Cosmetology School of Designing Arts and now is currently working as a hair designer. Ashton loves all aspects of hair styling, but she specializes in highlights and coloring and is CHI certified. She said she loves to see the end product of colors blended together to give clients what they want and what looks the best on them. Ashton is very optimistic and excited about her career as a hair designer at Jagged Edge and she looks forward to meeting new clients and seeing exactly what the hair designing industry has in store for her! Ashton graduated from Tuckerman High School before going on to Cosmetology School of Designing Arts. When Ashton is not at the salon she loves shopping, fishing, going to the beach, and being at the river and lake. She also loves spending time with her family: her fiancé, Codey, her parents, Robert and Tammy, and her brother, Taylor.

Tammie L Richardson, Natural Nail Specialist, began her career 10 years ago here in Jonesboro and has continued to become more skilled in several areas of nail care through continued education. Tammie holds over 20 different Nail Pro Certifications and is also proud to be a certified Minx Nail Tech. Tammie believes that “Minx is a perfect addition to natural nail care, it is a greener, more environmentally friendly alternative to nail polish.” Tammie states that she has “worked hard to build a reputation for cleanliness and quality work. She is very thankful for her many loyal clients that have made the last 10 years such an enjoyable experience. Come in and receive a professional service and choose from over 300 OPI colors in stock, or try OPI soak off gels for a manicure that lasts 10-14 days. She also keeps a variety of the new trendy Minx Nail Armor. When not in the salon, you might find Tammie busy with many different community projects, such as fundraising or spreading awareness for the NEA Women’s Crisis Shelter and NEA Humane Society. She is an avid bible student that actively helps a local group of ASL members of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Tammie has been happily married for 24 years to her “best friend” and “love of my life” David Richardson. Tammie says, “He gave me the 2 BEST gifts ever… Brittney and Tiffani, my two princesses.”

Terri McNamara, former Respiratory Therapist for 17 years, has taken her medical background and applied the "basics" in health and sanitation to improve your salon and spa experience. In her 11 years as a natural nail specialist, she understands the importance of peace of mind. Let her worry about the "nitty gritty" while you contemplate your perfect shade. Terri specializes in pedicures and manicures, and now offers OPI's Gel lacquer - "No Chip Polish" - UV cured. She loves photography, trips to the beach and lake, movies, and music. She is also an avid reader - you'll find she has a serious addiction to books and magazines of all types! Terri is the mother of an angel - Cady Jordan McNamara, 1989-2004 - her dog, Toshi, and cat, Cleo. The following are her own personal quotes: "All I want is world peace and a pedicure." "Life is not measured by the moments of breath you take, but by the breath-taking moments." and "Still crazy after all these years. :)" Terri loves what she does, and is great at it as well!
